This lesson is mainly for us to start doing something original, range plan. These products need to be designed from today’s fashion trends. The discovery of fashion trends comes from the streets.
We have a job that I think is very interesting, which is directional shopping, that is, we need to go shopping with our purpose, and our purpose is to find brands related to our own co-brand, or it can be a competitor brand.
I went to the dover street market, and the top floor of DSM is some artisan clothing brand, but most of these brands in DSM are the brands of some foreign designers. Then I went to layers, and the selections in layers were very much in line with my research, all of which were very artisan clothing brands, such as guidi, A TENTATIVE ATELIER, and some very successful designer brands, maison margiela, yohji and so on. After that I went to the lab store, where there were a lot of niche brands and dark brands, and I also saw the co-branded jewelry of UMA Wang and detaj there, as well as the clothing of UMA Wang. There are also UMA wangs in selfridges. At UJNG I also found a lot of UMA Wang’s competing brands, including successful Chinese designers such as Ziggy Chen and Pengtai, which are very niche even in China.
Through this shopping survey, I felt that fashion is everywhere, and if you want to do a good job, you not only need to conduct some research on the Internet, but also need to go to physical stores to investigate these target brands.
